01 Mar Celebrating Success- FSB Welsh Finalists
Following our success at the West Cheshire and North Wales Chamber of Commerce Awards in November of last year, it’s been an honour to be shortlisted as Welsh Finalists for two Federation of Small Businesses Awards.
“Taking the time out to evaluate all that the past year has entailed – our successes, plans for growth, achievements of our people, and the loyalty of our customers – as part of the application has been a really valuable experience. As we continue to grow as a company, we’re delighted to have been shortlisted for both categories- Family Business of the Year, and Scale-Up Business of the Year” says Sales & Marketing Manager, Nadia.

Scale Up Business of the Year
“For businesses that have taken the leap to a whole new level, demonstrating true entrepreneurial spirit, market leading growth and outstanding leadership.”
“Platts is currently enjoying a sustained period of growth as a business- including manufacturing output, international trade and job creation and sales.

We believe our customers are best placed to speak of what makes Platts stand out. Livestock Manager, Thomas Baines-Sizeland, from longstanding customer, Anglia Farmers (AF), describe how Platts have developed a successful partnership with AF.

“Established in 1973 by husband-and-wife team, Robert & Christine Platt, now employing 58 staff, Platts have a strong brand-presence Nationwide.
Starting as farmers, selling sawdust to neighbouring farms- it soon became apparent that the supply of animal bedding was more than a part-time job alongside farming for the Platts, who began hand-bagging sawdust, and delivering locally. Staying close to their agricultural roots, the company still demonstrate the family ethos today- differentiating from competitors with a professional-yet-personal approach. Many customers have built a rapport with their Account Managers, who know and understand customer needs.
